Advancing Optoelectronics
& Machine Control

Innomof focuses on technology and development in the fields of optoelectronics, digital systems, and machine control since 2005. Our final target as a company is to offer cost-effective solutions through reliable technology.

Operations in Mexico, UK & Brasil

Company Overview

History

Innomof started in the year 2004 by Alfredo Montelongo firstly as a printing shop called neocolor. The goal of the company at that time was to become a printing supplier in the local sector. The transition of the company occurred in the year 2005 when Yunuen Montelongo began to work on applications of lasers for industry together with Dr. Alexander Pisarchik Centro de Investigaciones en Optica (CIO).

The work focused in the behavior of different materials under laser stimulation. This project finished successfully in the year 2006 with a scanning system for high power lasers, but also with a new plan meant to develop an optomechanical device for high performance scanning.

The company had an important change with the decision of building a new system for industry. Yunuen was in charge of the new project with a partial funding from CONCYTEG and a cooperative agreement with Dr. Jose Luis Lucio Martinez of the physics institute of Universidad de Guanajuato. Through this new project the first laboratory prototype was finally achieved in the year 2009. Innomof was created in 2010 with the goal of commercialize the developments reached.

Facilities

The company has equipment that is used on our development projects. This equipment is mainly optical devices as well as machining tools and electronic components. Innomof equipment is been used on different locations where collaborators have access to it.

Facilities Building
Facilities which includes more than 100 meters in laboratories and offices

Innomof has already a small laboratory in the south of Leon Guanajuato Mexico. The company has build their new facilities with above a hundred square meters in Leon Guanajuato Mexico. The building will become the management office with laboratories and workshops in the close future.

Research & Activities

By now our activities are mainly related to the development of photonic devices. In order to produce complete systems for the industry we keep working in a wide range of fields.

Optics

We have experience in the analysis of rays for optics specifically in the use of lasers. This includes the use of array of lenses, mirrors, gratings, filters and other devices to achieve high quality optics.

Fiber & Mechanics

Working with Monomodal as well as Multimodal fibers of different materials. Cleaving, coupling and splicing fibers are typical activities. Mechanical devices are fundamental to manipulate light.

Software & Control

The core of the control are microcontrollers like FPGAs and microprocessors. Our devices are highly automated, using computers to control and maintain friendly communication with the user.

Projects & Development

Computer-To-Plate (CTP) Device

Innomof has created with Mexican technology the first device in Latin America capable to film lithographic plates for the printing industry. This project, along its different steps, has developed new products and services. The objective of this project since its inception was to join many areas of the engineering but mainly optics to create a high quality product.

The device started as an experimental set up but is has been evolved until the year 2011 that the first pilot plant has been installed on a production line. The main features of the current device are:

  • Large printing area of 1.00 x 1.40 meters.
  • Resolution up to 2500 ppi. Speed of 18 plates (of square meter) per hour.
  • High power laser of 120mW compatible with most of the plates of the market.
  • System plug-and-play based in USB 2.0 technologies.
  • Intuitive software friendly with most of design tools of the market.

Future Research Areas

At the time our team focuses in the research of devices that can be applied to the industry in the high tech sector. The developments focuses in two main areas: Laser manufacturing and Laser security.
